Privacy Notice

The short version: I only collect what I need, I only use it for what you asked for, and I never sell it or pass it on. The longer version is below.

Who I am

This site is run by Nicholas Gill, trading as Nicholas Gill Consulting, based in Hampshire, UK. I’m responsible for the personal information collected here. You can reach me at nicholas.r.gill@gmail.com

What I collect and why

  • Contact form. Your name, email and message, so I can reply. I rely on legitimate interests here: you got in touch and expect an answer.
  • Space to Think sign-up. Your name, email, which pilot interests you and anything you choose to tell me. I use it to tell you about dates and places. If you tick the box, I’ll also keep you posted about Space to Think. That part relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to new posts, your email address is held by WordPress.com so it can send them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Site statistics and spam protection. WordPress.com collects basic visit data and uses cookies to run the site, count visits and filter spam. I see totals, not who you are.

Where it’s kept

This site runs on WordPress.com, provided by Automattic. Form entries and subscriptions are stored on their systems, which may be outside the UK, including in the US. Automattic explains how it protects that data in its privacy policy and cookie policy. Replies to you come from my own email, which is also stored securely.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries: for as long as we’re in touch, and then no longer than I need to.
  • Space to Think sign-ups: until the pilots have run, unless you tell me to keep you posted.
  • Anything at all: deleted sooner if you ask.

Your rights

You can ask to see what I hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or tell me to stop using it. You can withdraw consent at any time. Just email me and I’ll sort it, usually within a few days and always within a month.

If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. I’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes

If anything here changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
