time equals money

New vid from Isobar about their new philosophy that time is the new currency in the magic dust world of marketing. Just not sure they’re saying anything that we don’t know already, especially the bit about what’s at the core of a consumer. Er, that’s the insight that derives a proposition that’s been at theContinueContinue reading “time equals money”

when did PEST become SLEPT?

The Times 100 site has some good case studies and theory stuff that ranges from GCSE to A level to MBA. Obviously been a while since I ducked into the classroom as the L was always silent in PEST (Political, Economic, Social, Technology), as it kind of got lumped with Political. I bet they’veContinueContinue reading “when did PEST become SLEPT?”

google is top of the brandz & still has humour | millward brown brandz report

Google is the no. 1 brand according to the 2007 Millward Brown Brandz report. They also still have humour. Go to Google maps, click get directions, add washington, dc as the from and london, uk the to. Check out direction 21. SWIM across the Atlantic. Genius. I also didn’t know the original name for GoogleContinueContinue reading “google is top of the brandz & still has humour | millward brown brandz report”

reviving tango | an account planning think tank

I’ve been reading Vincent Thome’s blog for a while. I can’t remember how I found his stuff but I like it. As a relative newcomer to the advertising genre, he’s been on a number of courses funded by the good folks at DDB (those behind the VW campaigns of genius) and always pings a blogContinueContinue reading “reviving tango | an account planning think tank”

admit it, we all steal great decks

And Slide Share has made it easier for us to find new and exciting ways to liven up our dull old PowerPoint. Although I have recently invested 55 of your English pounds in the Keynote software (and Pages) for my Mac at home so I can hopefully create something more visually exciting. When I canContinueContinue reading “admit it, we all steal great decks”

privium | cool branding 2007

Privium has been named as a cool brand in the Cool Branding 2007 awards. Privium basically takes a copy of your iris’ so you can peer into a scanner at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam and walk straight through border control without queuing. Awesome. It is a little weird carrying your iris’ on a card though.ContinueContinue reading “privium | cool branding 2007”

state of the live web | technorati

Technorati have just released their state of the live web(blogosphere + social web) report. Some staggering numbers: 70m blogs, 120k new blogs each day 3-4k splogs each day (spam blogs usually = crappy marketing blogs) the blogosphere growth rate has slowed but is still doubling every 320 days (as at March 2007) 1.4m postsContinueContinue reading “state of the live web | technorati”

top marketing blogs

Bone up on the full list. Digitasian’s (and by virtue, close living relatives of me) Verdino & Armano make the top 150. I don’t. Perhaps just as well.
